Growing up in Chesapeake, West Virginia, Chad David Lavender, MD turned a lifelong love of football into a mission that is now reshaping orthopaedic surgery worldwide. As an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Marshall University's Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, he delivers care that athletes and patients travel from across the globe to receive.
The creator of the Lavender Fertilized ACL, Dr. Lavender has trained surgeons in over 20 cities and attracted patients from 27 states and internationally. He was selected as a Guest Speaker at the International ACL Study Group Biennial Meeting 2026, placing him among the most respected ACL surgeons in the world.
His work in nanoarthroscopy has redefined minimally invasive surgery, enabling procedures through a needle-sized scope with no incisions and dramatically reduced recovery. His textbook — Biologic and Nanoarthroscopic Approaches in Sports Medicine (Springer) — debuted at #1 on Amazon's sports medicine list and is now a standard reference for orthopaedic surgeons globally.
